Join Us as a Financial Controller at Mbrella!
👋 Hi there! We’re Mbrella, and we’re here to change the game.
At Mbrella, we believe that mobility needs a fresh approach. Our mission is to become the go-to Mobility Hub for companies, offering flexible and sustainable mobility solutions for employers and their teams—all without the hassle.
To achieve this mission, we are on the lookout for a Financial Controller to join our dynamic team!
What You'll Do
As a Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in driving financial clarity. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Keep the month-end and quarter-end closing process running smoothly: challenge bookings, own the accruals, and make sure our financial statements are spot-on and on time. You won't be booking entries yourself, but you'll be the owner of the P&L and overall financials.
- Build, maintain, and geek out on financial models (P&L forecasts, budgets, rolling estimates) that actually help the company make smarter decisions. Think complex financial flows, business cases, and scenario modelling.
- Dig into variances between actuals and budget/forecast: volume effect? price effect? You'll figure it out, explain it clearly, and help the business act on it.
- Be the finance person that operational and commercial teams actually want to talk to: challenge assumptions, understand what drives the numbers, and make finance a real sparring partner, not the department that just says "no."
- Handle large and complex datasets without breaking a sweat, turning messy numbers into clean dashboards and reports, all while keeping your cool under tight deadlines.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in financial controlling, FP&A, or treasury management. We already have strong accounting profiles on the team, so we're really looking for someone who brings that next-level financial and strategic angle.
- A first experience in financial services, electric mobility, or the energy sector is a strong plus, especially if you've had to model complex financial flows or build business cases.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis (volume/price/mix). You don't just report the numbers, you explain why they moved.
- Business-oriented mindset: you enjoy stepping out of the spreadsheet to understand operations, challenge the business, and influence decisions.
- Advanced modelling and data skills: you're at ease manipulating large datasets (Excel/Google Sheets at an advanced level; curious to use AI like Claude)
- Experience with Odoo is a nice-to-have that will definitely catch our attention.
- Fluency in English & French or Dutch is mandatory.
